Ashlyn followed her older sister into gymnastics. She started taking gymnastics classes for fun at the age of two and she never looked back. At the beginning of Ashlyn's gymnastics career, she trained at Sokoi Elite Gymnastics in California. Ashlyn was the State All-Around Bronze Medalist in 2014 in level 3 and 2015 in level 4. In 2016, Ashlyn grabbed gold medals on balance beam and in the all-around and silver medals on vault, uneven bars and floor exercise at the 2016 Level 5 State Championships.

In 2017 as a level 6 gymnast, Ashlyn placed third in the all-around with a 38.725 and first on vault and uneven bars at the State Championships. She moved up to level 7 for the 2018 season where she placed first in the all-around with a 38.600 and first on floor exercise at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 1 Championships, finishing first in the all-around with a 39.300 and first on uneven bars and balance beam. Ashlyn competed as a level 8 gymnast in 2019. She placed third in the all-around with a 37.725 and first on balance beam and floor exercise at the State Championships. At the Region 1 Championships, she placed second in the all-around with a 37.750 and first on balance beam.

In 2020, Ashlyn moved up to level 9 where she qualified to the State Championships but was unable to compete due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, Ashlyn finished fourth in the all-around and first on balance beam at the Region 1 Championships. She qualified to the Level 9 Western Nationals, finishing fourth on balance beam and 13th overall. Ashlyn continued competing level 9 for the 2022 season. She grabbed gold medals on uneven bars, balance beam and in the all-around with a 38.000 at the State Championships. At the Region 1 Championships, she finished fourth in the all-around with a 37.425 and second on uneven bars, qualifying to the Level 9 Western Nationals for the second time. At the Nationals, Ashlyn finished seventh in the all-around and first on balance beam.

As a first-year level 10 gymnast in 2023, Ashlyn qualified to the State Championships but was unable to finish the season due to an injury. In 2024, Ashlyn took home a bronze medal on balance beam at the State Championships and a gold medal on balance beam at the Region 1 Championships. After the Regionals, Ashlyn began training at Azarian U.S. Gymnastics Training Center. Ashlyn went to the Level 10 National Championships as a beam specialist where she finished first on balance beam in the all-star session. In 2025, Ashlyn finished second in the all-around with a 37.675 and first on uneven bars and balance beam at the State Championships. At the Region 1 Championships, she finished seventh overall with a 37.225, second on balance beam and third on uneven bars. Ashlyn qualified to the Level 10 National Championships in Salt Lake City, UT, finishing 11th on balance beam and 17th on uneven bars out of 57 gymnasts.

When Ashlyn isn't busy training over 20 hours each week in the gym, she enjoys baking and hanging out with her friends. She is the daughter of Sabrina and Michael Tejeda and she has two older sisters and a twin brother and three cats. Currently, Ashlyn is an honor student at Chino Hills High School and she will graduate from high school in 2027.
