Ava began taking gymnastics classes at the age of three at AcroSports Gymnastics in League City, TX. She was the 2016 Level 4 Texas State All-Around, Vault, Uneven Bars and Floor Exercise Champion, 2017 Level 5 Texas State All-Around, Vault, Uneven Bars and Floor Exercise Champion and 2018 Level 6 Texas State All-Around, Vault, Uneven Bars, Balance Beam and Floor Exercise Champion. Following Ava's 2018 season, she moved to Pearland Elite Training Center in Pearland, TX.

In 2019, Ava skipped level 7 and quickly moved up to level 8. She swept the gold medals with an all-around score of 38.700 at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 3 Championships where she finished third in the all-around with a 37.600, second on floor exercise and fourth on vault and uneven bars. In 2020, Ava qualified to the Level 9 Texas State Championships but was unable to compete due to COVID-19 pandemic.

As a first-year level 10 gymnast in 2021, Ava placed third in the all-around and third on uneven bars at the State Championships and qualified to the Region 3 Championships. In 2022, Ava placed sixth in the all-around and third on floor exercise at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 3 Championships where she placed seventh on floor exercise. Ava placed seventh in the all-around with a 37.175 and third on uneven bars with a 9.600 at the 2023 Level 10 State Championships, qualifying to Regionals.

When Ava isn't busy training 20 hours each week in the gym, she enjoys reading and crafting. She also plays golf and she is a certified scuba diver. Ava is the daughter to Stacy and Joe East and she has a brother, Adam and two dogs named Biu and Pixie. Currently, Ava is an honor student at Clear Springs High School and she will graduate from high school in 2024.
