Emmalise started gymnastics when she was two years old and entered competitive gymnastics at the age of six. She love this sport because it has taught her many life skills including discipline, focus, determination, team work, motivation and time management. Emmalise started her competitive gymnastics career at Gleason's Gymnastics School in Eagan, MN.
As a level 7 gymnast in 2014, Emmalise placed first in the all-around with a 38.000, first on uneven bars and second on floor exercise at the State Championships. She moved up to level 8 for the 2015 season, finishing first in the all-around with a 37.500 and second on vault and uneven bars at the State Championships. She was also named to Super 8 Team. As a first-year level 9 gymnast in 2016, Emmalise qualified to the State Championships. She continued competing level 9 in 2017 where she placed first in the all-around with a 38.000 and first on vault and floor exercise at the State Championships. At the Region 4 Championships, she finished first in the all-around with a 37.125 and first on uneven bars. She qualified to the Level 9 Western Nationals, placing 14th overall, first on floor exercise and third on uneven bars. Emmalise was named to America's Top 100 on floor exercise with a 9.675.
Emmalise moved up to level 10 for the 2018 season. At the State Championships, she placed third on vault with a 9.425. She finished eighth in the all-around and second on floor exercise at the Region 4 Championships. She was the alternate for the Junior Olympic Nationals. In May of 2018, Emmalise left her long-time gym and moved to Classic Gymnastics in Chanhassen, MN. In 2019, Emmalise placed third in the all-around and first on floor exercise at the State Championships. She qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals after finishing fifth in the all-around and first on vault at the Region 4 Championships. At the Nationals in Indianapolis, IN, Emmalise placed third on floor exercise with a 9.575.
Emmalise trains 20 hours per week at Classic Gymnastics in Chanhassen, MN under coaches Bryon Hough and Charise Schrupp. Emmalise is working hard to reach her goals to qualify to the JO Nationals and to compete for a Division I college gymnastics team.
