Emma Celeste Simpton was born on December 19, 2002 in Texas to Stephen and Abby Simpton. She has an older brother, Luke and two younger sisters, Julia and Anna Grace (who is also a gymnast at Metroplex). Emma is an honor student at Connections Academy and she will graduate from high school in 2021. When she has time outside of gymnastics, she enjoys spending time with her siblings, cooking, running and swimming.

Emma was a very busy toddler and her mom put Emma in “Mommy and Me” classes at 18 months old. Even as a baby, Emma would break loose from her blankets she was swaddled in. Emma was very strong and determined! Emma started her gymnastics career at Alamo Gymnastics Center in San Antonio, TX. When she was at Alamo, she placed first in the all-around with a 38.675 and first on all events at the Level 4 South State Championships. Following her level 4 season, she started training at Aerial Athletics in San Antonio, TX.

In 2011 as a level 5 gymnast, Emma finished first in the all-around and first on uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise at the South Texas State Championships. She then placed fifth in the all-around with a 37.700 and fourth on floor exercise at the State Championships. She moved up to level 6 for the 2012 season where she finished first in the all-around, first on floor exercise and third on uneven bars at the South Texas State Championships. At the State Championships, Emma placed fifth in the all-around and third on uneven bars. In 2013 as a level 7 gymnast, Emma placed sixth in the all-around with a 37.825 and third on uneven bars and floor exercise at the State Championships. She represented Texas at the National Judges Cup where she placed second in the all-around with a 38.025, first on floor exercise and third on vault and uneven bars.

Emma moved up to level 8 for the 2014 season. She placed 23rd in the all-around with a 37.575 and eighth on balance beam with a 9.725 at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 3 Championships, finishing 12th in the all-around with a 37.600 and eighth on floor exercise scoring a 9.500. In the summer of 2014, Emma and her family relocated to Dallas area, so Emma started training at Metroplex Gymnastics in Allen, TX.

In 2015, Emma finished third in the all-around with a 37.725, second on balance beam and third on uneven bars at the Level 9 State Championships. At the Region 3 Championships, she placed 12th in the all-around and first on floor exercise with a 9.625. As a first-year level 10 gymnast in 2016, Emma finished fifth in the all-around with a 37.225, first on balance beam with a 9.550 and fourth on floor exercise scoring a 9.500 at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 3 Championships where she finished 16th in the all-around and ninth on uneven bars.

Emma earned a silver medal in the all-around with a 38.150 at the 2017 Level 10 State Championships. She also placed first on floor exercise, third on vault and fourth on balance beam. She qualified to the Region 3 Championships, finishing 11th overall. Following her level 10 season, Emma participated in Parkettes National Elite Qualifier where she passed compuslories, a portion of elite testing. In 2018, she placed third in the all-around with a 38.175 and first on uneven bars at the State Championships. At the Region 3 Championships, Emma finished third in the all-around with a 37.300 and third on vault and floor exercise. She qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Cincinnati, OH. Emma was named to America's Top 100 on balance beam with a 9.750.

In 2019, Emma placed second in the all-around with a 37.675, first on vault and second on uneven bars and balance beam at the State Championships. At the Region 3 Championships, she finished second in the all-around with a 37.925, first on floor exercise and second on vault and balance beam. She qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Indianapolis, IN. Emma qualified to the 2020 Level 10 State Championships but was unable to compete due to COVID-19 pandemic.
