Gia was extremely active and walked at 12 months old. She loved to do forward rolls all over the floor and in her crib. She could not sit and was always jumping and trying to do cartwheels. She was first enrolled with Gold Medal Gymnastics Center in Rocky Point in June 2010 when she was 23 months old At three years old, she was moved up to a more structured group called "Super Silvers." A year later, she was moved up again to an even more structured group that focused on the skills needed for future participation on a team. That group was named "Gold Medalist."
Gia skipped levels 5 and 6 and moved up to level 7 for the 2017-2018 season with Apex Gymnastics. After the 2018 season, Gia moved to Gold Medal Gymnastics Center in Centereach, NY. She repeated and competed level 7 for the 2018-2019 season where she placed fourth on uneven bars and in the top ten in the all-around at the State Championships. Following the 2019 season, Gia was invited to the USAG Regional Developmental Team camp by the Region 6 directors. Gia moved up to level 8 for the 2019-2020 season. She qualified to the State Championships but was unable to compete due to COVID-19 pandemic. Gia competed in a few meets as a level 9 gymnast in 2021 and qualified to the State Championships but was unable to participate due to being exposed to COVID-19 in the gym.
In March 2022, Gia moved to New Image Gymnastics. She finished fifth on balance beam and floor exercise at the 2022 Level 9 State Championships. She qualified to the Region 6 Championships where she took a bronze medal on balance beam. In 2023, Gia placed eighth on vault at the Level 9 State Championships.
When Gia isn't training over 22 hours each week in the gym, she enjoys baking, making ice cream and crafting. Gia is an ambassador for a leotard company named Sarano Style, Inc. She is the daughter to Ronald and Kerri Politi. She has an older brother, Nikolas, a younger sister, Luciana and a black lab named Jax. Currently, Gia is an honor student at Shoreham Wading River School District and she will graduate in 2026.
