Gigi's mom enrolled her in gymnastics when she was three years old because she was literally climbing the walls and ripped the living room curtains and bathroom towel rack out of the drywall. She wanted to give Gigi a safe place to climb and flip and jump without destroying her house. It did not take Gigi long to join pre-team at a local gym. She trained at TIGAR Gymnastics in Wheat Ridge, CO for six years, between 2012-2018.
As a level 7 gymnast in 2014, Gigi placed second on uneven bars and third on vault at the Region 3 Championships. She moved up to level 8 for the 2015 season where she qualified to the Region 3 Championships. Gigi had a great level 9 season in 2016! She earned gold medals on uneven bars and in the all-around at the State Championships. At the Region 3 Championships, she finished third in the all-around with a 37.975 and first on uneven bars. Gigi qualified to the Level 9 Western Nationals finishing ninth in the all-around, second on uneven bars and fourth on floor exercise. Gigi was named to America's Top 100 on uneven bars.
Gigi was unable to compete in 2017 due to an injury. In January 2018, Gigi moved to Colorado Gymnastics Institute (CGI) in Aurora, CO. At the 2018 State Championships, Gigi placed first on uneven bars and in the all-around and qualified to the Region 3 Championships. Gigi was named to America's Top 100 three times on uneven bars and once on floor exercise. In 2019 as a first-year level 10 gymnast, Gigi qualified to the Region 3 Championships. In 2021, Gigi placed fifth on floor exercise and sixth on uneven bars at the Level 10 State Championships, qualifying to Region 3 Championships.
Gigi trains 28 hours per week at Colorado Gymnastics Institute (CGI) in Aurora, CO under coaches Vinicio Leira, Sonia Leira, Lindy Franzini and Kristen Teubner. She is working hard to qualify to the Junior Olympic Nationals the next few years. Her long-term goal is to compete for a Division I college gymnastics team.
