Julie began taking gymnastics classes because she was tired of watching her little brother playing basketball at the Y. A few friends from her new school were taking a gymnastics class at the same time and it looked fun. However, after being in class for two weeks, the coach asked if she could train Julie over the next few months. The rest is history. At the beginning of Julie's gymnastics career, she trained at JAG Gymnastics in Andover, KS.

Julie was the 2015 Level 6 KS State All-Around, Balance Beam & Floor Exercise Silver Medalist and 2016 Level 7 KS State Floor Exercise Silver Medalist. At the 2016 Level 7 Regionals, Julie placed fifth in the all-around with a 38.050 and fifth on vault and sixth on floor exercise. In 2017, Julie placed first on balance beam and in the all-around with a 37.600 at the Level 7 State Championships. At the 2017 Level 7 Regionals, Julie took home bronze medals on balance beam and floor exercise.

As a level 8 gymnast in 2018, Julie placed first on vault, balance beam, floor exercise and in the all-around with a 37.625 at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 3 Championships where she placed second on vault, third on balance beam and fourth on floor exercise. She continued competing level 8 for the 2019 season. She placed third in the all-around and second on balance beam at the State Championships. At the Region 3 Championships, Julie took home gold medals on vault, balance beam, floor exercise and in the all-around with a 37.800. Julie qualified to the 2020 Level 9 State Championships but was unable to compete due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Julie moved up to level 10 for the 2021 season. She placed second in the all-around and second on vault and balance beam at the State Championships. At the Region 3 Championships, Julie finished in the top eight on vault and floor exercise. Julie received Level 10 Character Award from the gym for her positive attitude and hard work ethic. In the summer of 2021, Julie moved to 316 Platinum Gymnastics Academy in Wichita, KS.

In 2022, Julie took home gold medals on vault, uneven bars, balance beam and in the all-around with a 37.625 at the Level 10 State Championships. At the Region 3 Championships, she finished ninth in the all-around and fifth on floor exercise. She qualified to the Level 10 National Championships in Mesa, AZ.

When Julie isn't busy training over 20 hours each week in the gym, she enjoys baking, traveling and hiking. She is the daughter to Kristy and Adam Korfhage and she has two brothers, Johnny and Andrew and a Newfoundland named Champ. Currently, Julie is an honor student at Kapaun Mount Carmel High School and she will graduate in 2023.
