Kaitlyn Lemon was born on February 8, 2008 to Karie and Daran Lemon. She has an older sister, Hannah and four dogs named Bear, Daisey, Oreo and Sophia. Kaitlyn's sister, Hannah is currently a collegiate gymnast at Hamline University. Currently, Kaitlyn is an honor student at Andover Central High School and she will graduate in 2026. Kaitlyn followed her older sister into gymnastics at the age of three at JAG Gymnastics in Wichita, KS. Kaitlyn was the 2016 Level 4 KS State Vault Silver Medalist, 2017 Level 5 KS State Vault Silver Medalist and 2018 Level 6 KS State All-Around, Vault and Balance Beam Silver Medalist. As a level 7 gymnast in 2019, Kaitlyn finished third on balance beam and floor exercise at the State Championships. At the Region 3 Championships, she placed fourth in the all-around with a 37.550 and first on floor exercise.
Kaitlyn was unable to compete in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She had a great level 8 season in 2021 where she placed second in the all-around with a 37.500 and first on floor exercise at the State Championships. At the Region 3 Championships, Kaitlyn finished fourth in the all-around and first on floor exercise. Kaitlyn missed the 2022 season due to an injury. Kaitlyn had a great level 9 season in 2023. She placed first in the all-around with a 37.000 and first on vault, balance beam and floor exercise at the State Championships. At the Region 3 Championships, Kaitlyn finished second in the all-around with a 37.475 and first on vault and floor exercise. She qualified to the Level 9 Western Nationals in Boise, ID where she grabbed gold medals on vault, balance beam, floor exercise and in the all-around with a 37.975!
When Kaitlyn isn't busy training 20 hours each week in the gym, she enjoys singing, theater, spending time with her friends and playing with her dogs. She coaches recreational classes and a pre-team team and is an Xcel level gymnastics choreographer and teacher at 316 Gymnastics Academy. Kaitlyn is involved in professional and community theater where she has had lead/title roles and understudy roles. She is a member of her school choir and Studio Singers Performance Group. Kaitlyn takes voice lessons, private ballet, jazz, tap, and music theater dance lessons. She is the choreographer for the Xcel routines at her gym at 316 Gymnastics. Kaitlyn is working with JH Consulting Athletic Performance Coach Trainer Mike Linn and Optimal Performance Personal Trainer Stephen Lopez for extra conditioning. Kaitlyn joined the Christian group, "Under the Cross" at her school. She is also involved in her community service including:
