Kelsey "Chippy" Lee was born on August 23, 2005 in Florida to Ray and Jill Lee. She has a sister, Courtnie and two yellow labs named Kobey and Chloe. Currently, Kelsey is an honor student at Parrish Community High School and she will graduate from high school in 2023. When Kelsey has time outside of gymnastics, she enjoys fishing, swimming and boating.

Kelsey's friends were taking gymnastics classes and she thought it looked fun and wanted to try as well. She started her competitive gymnastics career at Golden City Gymnastics in Brandon, FL. As a level 4 gymnast in 2014, Kelsey placed first in the all-around and first on all events. Following her 2014 season, she moved to Lakewood Ranch Gymnastics in Bradenton, FL and has been there ever since.

Kelsey skipped level 6 and quickly moved up to level 7 for the 2015 season. At the State Championships, she placed third in the all-around with a 38.100 and first on vault and uneven bars. She qualified to the Region 8 Championships, finishing first in the all-around with a 38.225, first on uneven bars and second on vault. Kelsey was named to America's Top 100 on uneven bars (3x) and in the all-around. In 2016, Kelsey skipped level 8 and started competing level 9. At the Level 9 State Championships, Kelsey won the all-around title with a 37.775 and earned gold medals on balance beam and floor exercise. At the Region 8 Championships, she finished eighth in the all-around and fourth on floor exercise. She was the first alternate for the Level 9 Eastern Nationals. That same season, Kelsey also qualified to hopes pre-elite and competed at the Hopes Championships in Hartford, CT.

As a first-year level 10 gymnast in 2017, Kelsey placed fourth in the all-around, first on uneven bars and fourth on vault and floor exercise. She qualified to the Region 8 Championships but was unable to compete due to a minor injury. In 2018, Kelsey finished sixth in the all-around and fourth on uneven bars at the State Championships. At the Region 8 Championships, she placed ninth in the all-around and seventh on vault. She qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Cincinnati, OH where she placed 12th on uneven bars with a 9.475. In 2019, Kelsey won the uneven bars title at the State Championships and qualified to the Region 8 Championships.

Kelsey qualified to the 2020 Level 10 State Championships but was unable to compete due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Kelsey trains 22 hours per week at Lakewood Ranch Gymnastics in Bradenton, FL under coaches Laura and David Parraga. Her long-term goal is to obtain a Division I college gymnastics scholarship.
