Lainey started gymnastics when she was eight years old after being a recreational dancer. Her mom enrolled Lainey at Gold Medal Gymnastics in Smithtown, NY after she started teaching herself skills in her living room. To learn everything safely, Lainey was put into accelerated classes and then eventually was put on the USAIGC team. After competing four years on IGC, Lainey moved to USAG as a level 9 gymnast in 2019. Lainey qualified for both State Championships and Region 6 Championships. In 2020, Lainey qualified to Level 9 State Championships, but was unable to compete due to COVID-19 pandemic.

When Lainey isn't busy training over 20 hours each week in the gym, she enjoys baking, cooking and spending time with her family. Lainey is an honor student at The Knox School and she will graduate in 2022. She is a member of National Honor Society.
