Maddie was very active and always climbing, flipping and tumbling around the house, on the soccer field and in stores. When she was in preschool, her parents enrolled her in Kindermusic but instead of singing or playing an instrument, she always wanted to make up dance routines which always included tumbling. At three years old, her parents enrolled Maddie at Sonshine Gymnastics in a Mighty Beamers class. She quickly decided she wanted to do what the “Big girls" were doing. She started at the age of five on a pre-team (level 2).

As a level 7 gymnast in 2016, Maddie placed second in the all-around with a 38.075, first on floor exercise and second on vault at the State Championships. She competed for the North Carolina State Team at the Region 8 Championships where she finished in the top 15 in the all-around with a 37.400. She moved up to level 8 for the 2017 season where she finished second in the all-around with a 37.050 and first on vault and balance beam. At the Region 8 Championships, Maddie placed second on floor exercise and seventh in the all-around.

Maddie competed level 9 for the next two seasons. At the State Championships, she won the floor exercise title and placed fourth in the all-around. She qualified to the Region 8 Championships. Following her 2018 season, Maddie moved to Bull City Gymnastics in Durham, NC. Maddie won the vault, floor exercise and all-around (37.800) titles at the Level 9 State Championships. She had the highest all-around score in the entire state. At the Region 8 Championships, she finished fourth in the all-around and first on floor exercise. Maddie qualified to the Level 9 Eastern Nationals in Kissimmee, FL, finishing second in the all-around with a 38.150, first on balance beam and second on vault and floor exercise. Maddie had the 4th highest all-around score at the Eastern Nationals, 7th highest in the nation.

In 2020, Maddie moved up to level 10. She qualified to the State Championships but was unable to compete due to COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, Maddie placed ninth overall with a 37.225 and eighth on floor exercise at the Level 10 State Championships. She qualified to the Region 8 Championships, finishing eighth on balance beam.

When Maddie is not training 27 hours each week in the gym, she enjoys paddle boarding, traveling and hanging out with her friends and family. She is an honor student at Cross Road Flex Academy where she maintains a 4.0 GPA.
