Melia started her competitive gymnastics career at Hunts Gymnastics Academy in Clinton Twp, MI where she competed levels 3-6 before moving to Euro Stars Gymnastics in Plymouth, MI. She was the 2019 Level 6 State Vault and Floor Exercise Champion. Melia qualified to the 2020 Level 7 State Championships but was unable to compete due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As a level 8 gymnast in 2021, Melia placed first in the all-around and first on uneven bars and floor exercise at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 5 Championships, finishing ninth in the all-around and sixth on floor exercise. Melia was named to America's Top 100 on vault and floor exercise. Melia moved up to level 9 for the 2022 season. She placed second in the all-around and first on vault at the State Championships. At the Region 5 Championships, she finished fourth in the all-around and first on vault. Melia was named to Region 5 Dream Team after placing in the top eight at Regionals. She also qualified to the Level 9 Eastern Nationals in Rochester, NY where she placed fourth on vault in the Junior 4 session. Melia was named to America's Top 100 on vault.
As a first-year level 10 gymnast in 2023, Melia placed fifth on balance beam and sixth on vault at the Level 10 State Championships. She qualified to the Region 5 Championships where she placed fourth on balance beam and fifth on vault. In the summer of 2023, Melia moved to Gym America in Ann Arbor, MI. In 2024, Melia placed seventh in the all-around and first on balance beam at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 5 Championships, finishing eighth on vault and floor exercise.
When Melia isn't busy training 20 hours each week in the gym, she enjoys listening to music, exercising, playing with her dog and watching movies. She is the daughter to Rashahn and Tara Goldsmith. She has an older sister, Terralyn and an older brother, Xavier who is a Division I football player. Currently, Melia is a student at North Farmington High School and she will graduate in 2026.
