At the age of seven, Nylah was enrolled in gymnastics classes because she often imitated the gymnasts seen on YouTube. She excelled in those classes. Soon after, Nylah was invited to join the Silver Stars Bowie competitive team.

Nylah was the 2019 Level 4 Maryland State All-Around (38.025), Vault and Uneven Bars Champion. She was named to America's Top 100 on uneven bars after scoring a 9.900 at the Fantasy Invitational. Her 2020 level 7 season was highlighted with gold medals on vault and in the all-around and a silver medal on floor exercise at the Fantasy Invitational before COVID-19 abruptly shutdown gymnastics.

In 2021 as a level 7 gymnast, Nylah won the all-around title with a 37.875 at the State Championships. She also finished first on vault and second on uneven bars and balance beam. In May 2021, Nylah moved to Docksiders Gymnastics in Millersville, MD. In 2022, Nylah mood up to level 8. She placed fourth in the all-around, second on floor exercise and third on vault at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 7 Championships, finishing seventh in the all-around with a 37.475 and third on floor exercise. Scoring a 9.750 on floor exercise placed her into America's Top 100 in level 8. She also broke her level 8 team record on floor exercise and was named MVP.

Nylah had an ACL surgery in March 2023. She decided to move to Thrive Gymnastics in Annapolis, MD in December 2023. Nylah was released to train fully in November 2024.
