Renee was climbing and jumping by 18 months old, so her parents wanted her to have a safe place to burn off energy. She started taking recreational classes at USA Youth Fitness Center in Arizona. She was the 2013 Level 7 AZ State Uneven Bars Champion, 2013 Level 7 Regional Uneven Bars Silver Medalist and All-Around Bronze Medalist, 2014 Level 8 AZ State Uneven Bars Bronze Medalist and 2014 Level 8 Regional Qualifier.
Following her 2015 season, Renee and her family relocated to New Jersey, so she started training at Eastern National Academy of Gymnastics (ENA Paramus). In 2016, Renee placed sixth on floor exercise and scored a 37.100 in the all-around at the Region 7 Championships. She moved up to level 9 for the 2017 season. She won the uneven bars title at the State Championships. At the Region 7 Championships, Renee placed third in the all-around with a 37.875 and first on uneven bars with a 9.825. This qualified Renee to Level 9 Eastern Nationals where she placed sixth on uneven bars. Renee was named to America's Top 100 on uneven bars twice.
As a first-year level 10 gymnast in 2018, Renee finished third on balance beam at the State Championships. She qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals after finishing eighth in the all-around and sixth on balance beam and floor exercise at the Region 7 Championships. Renee was unable to compete most of the 2019 season due to an injury. She came back for the 2020 season and qualified to the State Championships. However, her season was cut short due to COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, Renee placed fifth in the all-around and second on balance beam at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 7 Championships, finishing fifth on uneven bars.
When Renee isn't busy training 20 hours each week in the gym, she enjoys photography and baking. She is the only child to Alisa and Nelson Jr. Figueroa. Currently, Renee is an honor student at Weehawken High School and she will graduate in 2022.
