Sierra began taking recreational gymnastics at the age of seven and started competing one year later at the age of eight. She was the 2014 Level 4 NC State Floor Exercise Silver Medalist, 2016 Level 6 NC State Vault Bronze Medalist, 2017 Level 7 NC State All-Around and Floor Exercise Silver Medalist and 2017 Level 7 Regional Qualifier.

In 2018 as a level 8 gymnast, Sierra placed fifth in the all-around with a 37.250 and third on uneven bars at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 8 Championships, finishing fourth in the all-around with a 37.300 and second on balance beam. In the fall of 2018, Sierra broke her left elbow that required immediate surgery where they had to put in screws. Sierra worked hard on her recovery and returned in March 2019 to qualify to the Level 8 State Championships where Sierra placed first on balance beam and third on floor exercise, her only events. Following Sierra's level 8 season, she moved to Everest Gymnastics in Cornelius, NC.

In the summer of 2019, Sierra had another elbow surgery to remove all the screws. She worked hard and got ready for the 2020 season. Sierra qualified to the 2020 Level 8 State Championships but was unable to compete due to COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021 as a level 9 gymnast, Sierra placed sixth in the all-around and fourth on balance beam and floor exercise at the State Championships. She was named alternate for the Level 9 Eastern Nationals after finishing eighth in the all-around and third on balance beam at the Region 8 Championships. In 2022, Sierra placed second in the all-around and first on floor exercise at the Level 9 State Championships. At the Region 8 Championships, she finished second in the all-around and second on vault and floor exercise. Sierra qualified to the Level 9 Eastern Nationals in Rochester, NY where she finished third on vault and floor exercise and 13th overall.

When Sierra isn't busy training 25 hours each week in the gym, she enjoys running, attending Bible studies, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She is a die hard Dallas Cowboys fan; passed down from generations of her family. Sierra is the daughter to Bryan and Wendy Church and she has three siblings, Koty, Hunter and Taylor and a German Shepard named Sarge.
