Sophie followed her older sister into gymnastics when she was three years old. She started in Mighty Tykes classes at a local gym and her passion took her to where she is today. She began competing level 4 in 2010 where she placed third in the all-around at the State Championships. Following her level 4 season, she moved to Salto Gymnastics in Waukesha, WI and she has been there ever since.

As a level 5 gymnast in 2011, Sophie placed fourth in the all-around and second on floor exercise at the State Championships. She moved up to level 6 for the 2012 seasons finishing first on vault, second on uneven bars and second in the all-around at the State Championships. At the 2013 Level 7 State Championships, Sophie took home a gold medal on floor exercise and silver medals on vault and in the all-around. Sophie did well at the 2014 Level 8 State Championships where she earned gold medals on balance beam, floor exercise and in the all-around with a 37.400. She qualified to the Region 4 Championships, finishing fifth on floor exercise and seventh on balance beam.

Sophie moved up to level 9 for the 2016 season. She qualified to the Level 9 Western Nationals. In 2017, Sophie finished sixth in the all-around and third on vault and floor exercise at the Level 9 State Championships. At the Region 4 Championships, she placed second in the all-around and first on balance beam and floor exercise. This qualified Sophie to her second Level 9 Western Nationals where she placed 12th overall.

Sophie was unable to compete in 2018 and 2019 due to an injury with a navicular fracture that did not heal correctly. She competed in two level 10 meets in 2020 and she qualified to the Level 10 State Championships, however, her season was cut short due to COVID-19 pandemic. Sophie did well in 2021 where she placed fourth in the all-around with a 37.375 and third on uneven bars at the State Championships. At the Region 4 Championships, she finished third in the all-around with a 37.050 and second on balance beam. She qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Daytona Beach, FL.

When Sophie isn't busy training 20 hours each week in the gym, she enjoys wake boarding, wake surfing, snowboarding and hiking. She is the daughter to Stefan and Julie and she has two sisters, Maddy and Hannah. Currently, Sophie is an honor student at Oregon High School and she will graduate in 2023. She has been involved with Friends of Oregon School District. Her mother started this foundation where it helps feed young students, offers social opportunities and gives students the ability to thrive during their time in the school system.
