Sydney started taking recreational classes for fun at Reflex Gymnastics in Orlando, FL when she was four years old. She started competing at the age of eight in level 3. Following her level 8 season in 2021, Sydney decided to move to Orlando Metro Gymnastics in Orlando, FL.

After moving to Orlando Metro, Sydney's gymnastics career took off. She placed second in the all-around and second on vault at the State Championships. At the Region 8 Championships, she finished seventh in the all-around with a 37.000 and first on vault and uneven bars. She qualified to the Level 9 Eastern Nationals where she won the all-around title with a 38.025 in the Junior 4 session. She also placed first on vault, second on uneven bars, fourth on floor exercise and fifth on uneven bars. Sydney was named to America's Top 100 on vault.

Sydney moved up to level 10 for the 2023 season. She placed second in the all-around with a 37.425 and first on vault at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 8 Championships but was unable to compete due to an injury. Sydney missed the 2024 season due to an injury. In 2025, Sydney finished second in the all-around with a 37.950 and second on vault, uneven bars and balance beam at the State Championships. At the Region 8 Championships, she placed first in the all-around with a 37.900 and second on vault and uneven bars. She qualified to the Level 10 National Championships in Salt Lake City, UT where she finished sixth on uneven bars with a 9.750 out of 57 gymnasts.

When Sydney isn't busy training 25 hours each week in the gym, she enjoys playing board games, puzzles and swimming. She is the daughter to Kerry and Charles Fleming and she has a brother, Evan and a dog named Aussie. Currently, Sydney is an honor student at Lake Nona High School and she will graduate from high school in 2026.
