Taylor started gymnastics at age three. Taylor was too shy to join the dance class, so her mom decided to give tumbling a try. Her dad was an Air Force pilot and, at that time, her family lived in the small town of Warrensburg, MO. Taylor is a true military child, having lived in six cities by the age of twelve.

When Taylor was training at Apollo Gymnastics in Virginia, she placed fifth in the all-around at the 2012 Level 4 VA State Championships. At the 2013 Level 5 VA State Championships, Taylor placed fourth in the all-around and second on the floor exercise. In 2013, Taylor’s family returned to Missouri. In 2014, Taylor earned gold medals in the all-around and the balance beam at the Level 5 MO State Championships. She tested out of level 6 and moved up to level 7 for the 2015 season where she qualified for the 2015 MO State Championships. As a level 8 gymnast, Taylor qualified to the 2016 MO State Championships. In 2017 at the 2017 MO State Championships Taylor finished second in the all-around with a 37.450 as well as second on vault and balance beam. She qualified for the 2017 Region 4 Championships, finishing eighth overall with a 37.325 and fourth on uneven bars. Following Taylor’s 2017 season, her family relocated to Georgia and she began training at the Gymnastics Academy of Atlanta.

As a first-year level 9 gymnast in 2018, Taylor took home a bronze medal on floor exercise at the GA State Championships. In 2019, she placed third in the all-around and first on vault at the GA State Championships. Taylor qualified to the 2019 Level 9 Eastern Nationals after finishing second in the all-around with a 37.625 and first on floor exercise at the Region 8 Championships. At Nationals, Taylor finished sixth in the all-around and third on floor exercise. Taylor moved up to level 10 for the 2020 season, but the season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the summer of 2020, Taylor began training at Roswell Gymnastics in Roswell, GA. Taylor competed at the 2021 Level 10 State Championships despite several multi-week quarantine periods in the three months leading up to the meet. In 2022, Taylor placed seventh in the all-around and fifth on floor exercise at the State Championships, qualifying to Regionals.

When Taylor is not busy training 20 hours each week in the gym, she enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, crafting, working with stained glass, crocheting, playing ukulele and playing card games. In September 2021, Taylor crocheted and donated NICU baby gowns, hats, and blankets to a local labor and delivery hospital. Taylor is the daughter of Kevin and Dionna Templin and has three brothers, Dawson, Noah, and Owen and a dog named Cotton. Taylor is an honor student at Harrison High School in Kennesaw, GA and she will graduate in 2023. She is also a member of the Beta Club, Drama Club, and the International Thespian Society (ITS).
