When Vivian was five years old, her day care provider signed her up for a recreational class. She fell in love with the sport and she never looked back. She started her gymnastics career at Lake Town Gymnastics in Waconia, MN. She has been training at Legacy Gymnastics in Eden Prairie, MN since she was a level 3 gymnast. She was the 2018 Level 4 MN State Uneven Bars Champion, 2020 Level 6 MN State Qualifier (COVID-19 pandemic) and 2021 Level 7 MN State All-Around Champion.

Vivian moved up to level 8 for the 2022 season. She finished fourth on balance beam and sixth in the all-around at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 4 Championships, finishing in the top ten in the all-around and seventh on vault and uneven bars. She continued competing level 8 for the 2023 season. Vivian placed fourth in the all-around and third on floor exercise at the State Championships and Region 4 Championships.

As a level 9 gymnast in 2024, Vivian finished sixth overall and sixth on uneven bars at the State Championships. At the Region 4 Championships, she placed second in the all-around and first on uneven bars. She qualified to the Level 9 Western Nationals. As a second-year level 9 gymnast in 2025, Vivian placed fifth in the all-around at the State Championships and third in the all-around and second on floor exercise at the Region 4 Championships. She qualified to the Level 9 Western Nationals again, finishing eighth in the all-around with a 37.400 and sixth on balance beam.

When Vivian isn't busy training over 20 hours each week in the gym, she enjoys baking and nail art. She is the daughter of Nancy and Joshua Selbrade and she has a sister, Adeline and two dogs named Teddy and Luna. Currently, Vivian is an honor student at Belle Plaine High School and she will graduate in 2028. She is a member of student council. When she has time, she volunteers at Belle Plaine Food Shelf and Feed My Starving Children.
