Kathleen "Katie" Ours was born on December 27, 2001 in Maryland to Marc and Arline Ours. She has an older brother, Christopher, an older sister, Stephanie and three dogs named Joey, Teddy and Boomer. Katie is a homeschooled student and she will graduate from high school in 2021. When she has time outside of gymnastics, she enjoys hanging out with her friends, dancing and making YouTube videos.

Katie followed her older sister into gymnastics when she was three years old. She started competing level 4 in 2009 when she was seven years old. At the 2009 Level 4 State Championships, she finished first in the all-around with a 37.775 and first on uneven bars and floor exercise. As a level 5 gymnast in 2010, she placed second in the all-around with a 37.300 and second on balance beam and floor exercise at the State Championships. Following the level 5 season, Katie started training at Win-Win Gymnastics in Odenton, MD. She tested out of level 6 and quickly moved up to level 7 for the 2010-2011 season. At the Level 7 State Championships, Katie finished third in the all-around with a 37.550 and third on balance beam.

As a level 8 gymnast in 2012, Katie placed second in the all-around with a 37.625 and first on balance beam and floor exercise at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 7 Championships where she scored a 37.150 in the all-around. Katie moved up to level 9 for the 2013 season. At the State Championships, she placed second in the all-around with a 37.800 and first on uneven bars and balance beam. Katie finished sixth in the all-around with a 37.075 and third on uneven bars at the Region 7 Championships. She qualified to the Level 9 Eastern Nationals where she finished in the top ten in the all-around and earned a gold medal on uneven bars. Katie continued competing level 9 in 2014 but was unable to compete most of the season due to an injury. Even though Katie only competed in four meets in 2014, she was named to America's Top 100 on floor exercise with a 9.625.

In the summer of 2014, Katie moved to 1st Class Gymnastics in Annapolis, MD. She moved up to level 10 in 2015 where she placed fourth in the all-around and second on balance beam at the State Championships, qualifying to Regionals. In 2016, Katie had a great season. She earned a bronze medal in the all-around with a 37.425 at the Region 7 Championships. Katie qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Ft. Worth, TX where she scored a 37.375 in the all-around. She also participated in elite qualifiers. In 2017, Katie finished second in the all-around and third on balance beam at the State Championships, qualifying to Regionals.

In 2018, Katie moved to Docksiders Gymnastics in Millersville, MD. At the Region 7 Championships, she placed seventh in the all-around with a 37.650 and sixth on uneven bars. She qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Cincinnati, OH for the first time. In 2019, Katie placed third in the all-around with a 37.425 and second on uneven bars at the State Championships. She qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals after finishing third in the all-around with a 37.450 at the Region 7 Championships. In 2020, Katie qualified to the Level 10 State Championships but was unable to compete due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Katie trains 20-24 hours per week at Docksiders Gymnastics in Millersville, MD under coaches Bob Oulette, Katie Williams and Jay Barrows. Katie would like to qualify to the Junior Olympic Nationals again and to compete for a Division I college gymnastics team.
